Signs of a Clogged Sewer
By: Monika
Something’s not right on the home front. Certain things are going on that have you wondering, but you don’t want to assume the worst. Not yet anyway. But then you wonder: “What if it is a clogged sewer…how would I know?”
There are certain telltale signs that might confirm your suspicion – but not conclusively. It would take a professional diagnosis to find out what’s really going on. Still, if any of the following is going on in your house, we encourage you to contact PC Plumbing, Heating & Air – because in this case, you’ll want to err on the side of caution.
Multiple Blocked Fixtures
If, for example, your shower, bath, and sink drains are blocked at the same time, there’s a strong likelihood that a blocked sewer is lurking behind the scenes.
Gurgling Toilet
A gentle gurgling sound is cute as can be from a baby, but not so much from a toilet. So, if your toilet bubbles up and the water level rises right after you turn on a faucet, once again you have reason to suspect a blocked sewer line.
Backflow from Your Washing Machine
It might seem like a coincidence but be on the lookout for a toilet that overflows while your washing machine drains its water.
Unpleasant Odor
If the smell of raw sewage is permeating all or part of your home…you guessed it…another indication of a clogged sewer.
Damp Spot on Your Lawn
A blocked sewer also is the probable cause when one small area of your lawn is damp and soggy while the rest is bone dry.
Unclogging a sewer can be a relatively fast and simple job, or it can take a little more time and effort. Either way, don’t let any of the above symptoms linger. Contact PC Plumbing, Heating, AC & Remodeling so we can accurately diagnose the problem, and its source, before recommending the best possible solution.
